Vector Informatik GmbH, a global leader in automotive software and system solutions, was dealing with outdated server licenses and a fragmented cloud structure. The challenge: to find a secure, future-proof solution that would increase efficiency and mitigate Atlassian price increases in the data center area. With the migration to a centralized Confluence Cloud Enterprise solution for 1,600 users, which was supported by catworkx, the company set the course for a modern working environment.
The company faced with a strategic decision in 2024. At the time catworkx was contacted, the company was using a Confluence Server environment that was no longer supported by Atlassian and was already operating several cloud sites with up to 300 users. A standardised, future-proof solution was needed that would both meet the requirements for scalability and security and enable efficient collaboration.
The plan was to migrate to a central Confluence Cloud Enterprise licence for a total of 1,600 users. This changeover offered the opportunity to consolidate existing cloud licences and create a modern working environment that impresses with its powerful cloud functions. Intensive analyses in advance ensured that the new solution was optimally tailored to the company's requirements and at the same time counteracted the Atlassian price increases by reducing costs.

Together with Atlassian, a concept was developed that enabled parallel use of the OnPrem licensing and the new cloud solution during the transformation period. The extended functions of the Cloud Enterprise solution, which significantly increase collaboration and efficiency, were particularly appreciated. The centralised cloud environment also impresses with its ease of use, which facilitates administration and at the same time ensures greater transparency.
